The V. P. Ringer Collection is a series of homemade film clips of Houston and surrounding areas, with a majority originating from the 1950s.

A resident of Houston since 1921 and an ex-student of Rice Institute, V. P. Ringer was a prominent figure in Houston real estate and urban development. His firm, Ringer Properties, dealt widely in residential, commercial, and industrial real estate throughout Houston and the surrounding area. A leader and participant in many real estate activities, Ringer was a member of the National Association of Real Estate Boards (NAREB), a 1963 chairman of the Texas Real Estate Commission, and a past president and director of Houston Board of Realtors. He was interested in education and became an instructor for six years in real estate financing at the University of Houston, Downtown campus. Perhaps most importantly, Ringer served from 1958 to 1963 on the Planning Commission of the City of Houston and as a proponent of zoning. Ringer also served from 1961 to 1962 on the Zoning Commission for the City of Houston.
