This collection contains film reels primarily related to the Houston area, with a majority being from the 1930s. Orris D. Brown was a Houston-based amateur filmmaker who filmed much of the material contained within the collection. Several other films were purchased by Brown. Of note is footage of the dedication, groundbreaking, and construction of the San Jacinto Monument (1936) entitled "San Jacinto Memorial" and footage of the 1935 Flood in downtown Houston.
