She campaigned for women's suffrage and was a founding member of the NAACP in Houston. This two-part audio recording includes the ceremony for the dedication and opening of the Christia V. Adair park and the declaration of Christia V. Adair Day in Harris County on her birthday, October 22, 1977, by Commissioner Tom Bass. In Part B, Mrs. Adair addresses the audience and stresses the importance of voting. Many individuals pay tribute to Mrs. Adair throughout the recordings, including Fred Hofheinz (by telegram), Reverend Bill Lawson, the Wheeler Avenue Chapel Choir, Eleanor Stone Huckebee, J.
